Stella Dadzie

Stella Dadzie is a black feminist activist, artist and writer. She co-authored The Heart of the Race (1985) with Beverley Bryan and Suzanne Scafe, republished by Verso in 2018, and is the author of A Kick in the Belly (2020), an incisive study of black women’s resistance under slavery. A deposit of her archive is housed the Black Cultural Archives, Brixton.
