Call for Papers: New thinking!
Posted on 20/07/2023
Contributions are invited for the Spring 2024 number of FORUM (66/1) for which the copy date is Friday 10 November, 2023.
This Call is principally aimed at current or recently graduated education students on MA, EdD or similar courses. We want to hear from the rising generation of practitioners about what matters to them, though not—of course—to preclude anyone else from sending in an article addressing the theme of new educational thinking.
If you are currently undertaking an MA in Education, or are following an EdD course (or have recently done so) we particularly invite you to write for FORUM’s 2024 Spring number about any aspect of education, or any educational or educational research issue, which has especially engaged you during your studies. You are welcome to draw on a paper you have previously written or presented, or to write something wholly new.
Perhaps you feel strongly about an element of the curriculum, or about the process of assessment? Perhaps you have investigated an aspect of your own professional work, or of your own classroom? Perhaps there’s an educational issue you feel isn’t receiving its due? Perhaps you are involved in a campaign to change what happens in school? With a General Election in prospect, perhaps you’d like to offer advice to any incoming Education Secretary? If so, we’d be very glad to hear from you.
FORUM welcomes writing which is heart-felt as well as thought-through. There’s no set length for a FORUM article. Although many weigh in at about 4000 words, many are shorter. Nor is there a set way of writing an article. We certainly welcome academic papers, but personal reflections, critically-alert consideration of issues and experiences, and informed discursive writing are welcome too, as are texts written by more than one person.
If you have an idea for an article, or would like to discuss the possibility of contributing, please email Patrick Yarker. The deadline by which to send an article for the Spring 2024 number of FORUM is Friday 10 November 2023, but please contact Patrick beforehand to let him know you are sending in a text.
Spring is a time for new growth. Help FORUM showcase new educational thinking in the springtime of next year!
We look forward to hearing from you.
