Educational resources

As part of the Radical Black Women series, Lawrence Wishart have collaborated with the Young Historians Project and artist Meera Shakti Osborne to create a series of educational resources on Black women’s activism in Britain. The three packs are designed for use with young people at KS3, 4 and 5. These booklets seek to draw on the rich legacy of supplementary schools in making knowledge and resources about Black history freely available for educators to use. We hope these will support the development of a new generation of historians with an interest in Black history in Britain, as well as encouraging young people to question what is and isn’t included in their curriculum. The resources are available for download via the links below and are free to reproduce for non-commercial use. For more on the Young Historians, visit their website.
